Description
Colorful cobs of ornamental corn, or maize, with dry husks are the subject of this artwork created in soft pastel on a tinted paper. This staple crop was grown by Native Americans and in present day it serves as a traditional autumn harvest decoration around Halloween or Thanksgiving. A pale purple background enhances the hues of yellow, rust and blue in the kernels of this pair of ears of corn.
