Artist's Description

The Norse god, Odin, was fabled to receive news of happenings in Midgard from a pair of ravens named Huginn and Muninn. I have drawn these avian messengers in charcoal pencil on a muted pale blue paper. I chose charcoal for this work because it is an ancient medium appropriate to the mythic subject. These birds have an intelligent look in their eyes that lends credence to their mission. Thank you to wetcanvas member lorna12 for providing reference photos of ravens.
